LENARD MAINLAND WILLIAMS (published on June 07, 2010)

LENARD MAINLAND WILLIAMS September 5, 1936 June 4, 2010 With courage, dignity and grace, Len lost his battle to cancer. He fought with his usual vigor and determination, but this time the battle was lost. Remaining to forever cherish his memory are Juanita, his loving wife and soulmate of 52 years; his daughter Brenda Sikora, daughter Kim Williams (David), Lauren and Brady, daughter Jo-Anne Garroni (Jamie), Terry, Alexandra, Jasmine and Nico, son Mike (Tammy) Cody and Jessica. He is also survived by one brother, seven sisters and their children. Len will be remembered by many. Len was an extremely proud man, and was immensely proud of his children and grand-children. He touched countless people through his volunteering some of which included hockey, baseball, snowmobiling, and the construction and maintenance of several recreation facilities. If a job needed to be done you could count on Len to do it. No job was too big, his motto was If you wanted it to happen, make it happen. He was a great teacher, from his children to grandchildren, to the kids he coached to apprentices who worked under him. He was a teacher right to the end, when he was asked if student doctors could work on his case, he was proud to let them learn from him. Len was a man who only knew how to give. A celebration of Len's life will be held on Thursday, June 10 at 1:00 p.m. in The Church at Pine Ridge on the corner of Garvin Road and Highway 207. In lieu of flowers, Len had requested memorial donations be made to support his granddaughter Jessica in her battle against Juvenile Diabetes. Donations can be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1101-191 Lombard Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 0X1 or
