ANDRE (ANDY) GUY DEROCHE (published on June 12, 2010)

ANDRE (ANDY) GUY DEROCHE November 27, 1931 - June 9, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Andre Guy Deroche on June 9, 2010. Andy was predeceased by his brothers Lionel and Marcel. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years Helen, his two children Mark (Dianna), Kim (John), grandchildren Amanda, Kayla, Casey, Kendra, Kyle, and great-granddaughter Valerie. Andy was born and raised in Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba. At the age of seven his mother passed away and his aunts in town helped raise him. By the age of nine or ten he attended a boarding school in Winnipeg, he went to St. Mary's, St. Boniface and St. Paul high school where he enjoyed playing hockey, football and all other types of sports. Dad was an instructor at RRC for 28 years and wrote three books for the course he taught which was Auto Body Repair. He was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. Upon retiring he became a snowbird to Arizona for 16 years. Dad and mom enjoyed travelling all over the world together. In the summer they were dedicated to camping, first at Nutimik then Dorothy Lake and then the cottage. The summer months were for the kids and grandkids, waterskiing, boating and camp fires and just having fun. Dad was a teacher, mentor, handyman, builder a car guy, and a friend, but most of all he was a loving husband and father. He was a man full of wisdom, advice and was loved by all he touched. Dad was always doing something like building a boat in the garage, a motor home in the driveway to the cottage at the lake. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church 4588 Roblin Blvd at 1:00 p.m. Msgr. Maurice Comeault presiding. Entombment will follow at the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum at Assumption Cemetery Funeral Arrangements in care of: WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 211 REGENT AVENUE WEST(AT BOND ST.) 224-1525
