INA CHRISTINA DIMOND (published on June 26, 2010)



INA CHRISTINA DIMOND (nee DARROCH) Ina was born in the Elmore District, near Carievale, SK, on September 2, 1909, the seventh child of Archibald and Christina (Olson) Darroch. She passed away peacefully on May 28, 2010 at the Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home, Winnipeg, MB. Ina married Oscar W. Dimond of Gainsborough, SK in November 1937. They moved to Russell, MB in October 1939, and lived there until Oscar passed away in January 1971. She then moved to Winnipeg to be closer to her family. She was also predeceased by her parents, Christina (1919), Archie (1939); five sisters: Annie, Agnes, Mazie, Mary and Gladys; seven brothers: Dave, Ed, Ray, Oliver, Carl, Merle, and Morton. Ina is survived by two sons: Gary (Eileen) and Eldon (Bernice); one daughter, Pearl (Arlin) Warren; five grandchildren: Pam (Tim) Coates, Lance (Kerri) Dimond, Gayleen Dimond (Craig Bauer), Warren (Kim) Dimond, Jason (Beth) Warren; eight great-grandchildren: Will, Katelyn, Jude, Theo, Sienna, Brett, Keaton, and Nathan; sisters-in-law Marion Darroch and Dorothy Darroch; numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held on June 19 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Winnipeg, with Rev. Dr. Michael Wilson officiating. Donations may be made in Ina's memory to Windsor Park United Church, Lift Project , 1062 Autumnwood Drive, Winnipeg, MB R2J 1C7, or to a charity of your choice. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
