ROBERT (BOB) SYMAKA (published on July 05, 2010)

ROBERT (BOB) SYMAKA It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of our husband and dad, our beloved Bob. He passed away peacefully on June 30, 2010, at the tender age of 54, after a courageous battle against cancer. Bob was predeceased by his parents, John and Mae; and his brothers, Jon and Richard. Bob is survived by the love of his life: his wife of 35 years, Diane; his sons, Bradley (Marcy) and Ryan (Sheilah); his grandson Lucas; his sister, Cheryl (Chuck) Morris, and his numerous nieces and nephews (many of whom knew him as U.B. ). Born in 1955, Bob lived life, cherishing his family and friends. His self-declared greatest achievements are his sons and their successes. He was able to attain and pursue his passions. These included travelling with his wife; his lifelong interest in cars; and his self-driven and detailed studies of space exploration. Bob was a man who dedicated himself to all aspects of his life, as shown by his commitment of 37 years to his workplace: Red River Packaging. We would like to thank Dr. Fatoye, the nurses in the Oncology Department, and everyone on the 5th floor, unit 1 of the Seven Oaks Hospital. Their kindness, compassion, and hard work brought comfort to Bob and his family during this difficult time. Words are not sufficient to express our gratitude. We would also like to thank his sister Cheryl and brother-in-law Chuck for the strength they gave to the family and Bob. Bob will be deeply missed, as shown by the outpouring of love and concern that came from everyone who knew and loved him. Their visits and support brought Bob happiness and gave him the strength to continue fighting. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. RM ON1160, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 9Z9. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Sad are the hearts that loved you, Silent are the tears that fall. Living lives without you. Is the hardest part of all. You did so many things for us. Your heart was kind and true. When we needed someone most, We could always count on you. Those special years will not return when We were all together, But with the love within our hearts, You will walk with us forever. Your place on Earth, none can fill, We love you, and always will. We'll miss you my love, we'll miss you. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
