WILLIAM C. L. GALLEY (published on July 06, 2010)

WILLIAM C. L. GALLEY We are saddened to announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Bill Galley. Dad was born in Toronto on March 5, 1924, joined the Air Force when he was 19, went to war, met and married Mary, brought her home to Canada, remained in the service for some 33 years, raised two boys, retired in 1976, went to work for the Post Office then retired for good in 1988. Dad always liked to think of himself as a Scotsman and regarded Mary's dad as his own. They had many years together travelling back to Edinburgh and wintering in Texas until health grounded them. He spent his remaining winters frequenting every retail outlet in St. Vital looking for a good cup of coffee and a paper. He relished being around his family at gatherings attended by those who will miss him most, his wife of 64 years, Mary; his son Gerry and wife Gerdy, Jim and Terry Galley, Ryan Galley, Lisanne Lambert and the wee one Lily, Lindsay Galley and Jennifer Barker, Leah and Jonathon Enright. We've arranged a private memorial service at St. Matthews Anglican Church which dad often viewed from his room at Lions Personal Care Centre where he was well cared for.
