MURRAY SAMUEL VIVIAN (published on July 07, 2010)

MURRAY SAMUEL VIVIAN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Murray Samuel Vivian at the age of 76. Dad passed away peacefully at the Misericordia Health Centre on July 5, 2010, with his daughter Lori at his side. He was predeceased by his parents George and Martha Vivian, grandson Dustin Gerber (2004), and by his cherished wife of 50 years, Maryanne (2008). He will be deeply missed by his three daughters Lori Gerber, Terry Conn (Greg) and Donna Tremblay (Ken) and by grandchildren Angela (Joshua), Martha, Christopher, Miranda, Paul, Scott and Danielle. He also leaves to mourn his passing sister Donna McLean and family. Murray was born on January 22, 1934, and lived his entire life in Winnipeg. As a youngster he was a Boy Scout and Cadet. He graduated from Gordon Bell High School in 1952, and trained as a draftsman at Technical College. He spent his career at Transport Canada, retiring after 27 years of service in 1994. The next few years of his life were spent enjoying time with family and travelling with Maryanne. The last two years were difficult for Dad, as he struggled with the loss of his dear wife Maryanne. The family takes comfort in the belief that they are together once again, walking hand in hand through the flower gardens at Assiniboine Park. The family wishes to thank the staff at Misericordia Health Centre for their care and compassion. As per Murray's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private ceremony for immediate family will be held on Thursday, July 8. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation in Murray's name. Rest in Peace, Dear Dad Thomson In the ParK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
