STELLA BLASCHUK (published on July 10, 2010)

STELLA BLASCHUK (Nan) Surrounded by her family, Nan passed away peacefully on July 7, 2010, she was 90 years of age. She was predeceased by her husband Harry (Bumps) and daughter Marlene (Meeses) Tresoor in 1997. She will forever be remembered by her son-in-law Ken Tresoor, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren Karen Grant (Scott, Jesse, Daniel), Patti Burtnyk (Kerry, Rachel, Laura), Ken Tresoor (Cheryl), Marnie Ross (Tim and Sully) and many family and friends. She married Harry, the love of her life, on June 4, 1938. Job opportunities took them to Savant Lake, Ontario where their only daughter, Marlene, was born on December 2, 1938. Winnipeg eventually became their permanent home and Nan took great pride in her job at the Hudson's Bay Company and even greater pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was their number one fan whether she was watching curling, golf, soccer, hockey, baseball or high school musicals. Nan was known for her famous perogies, dill pickles and desserts, but most of all for her generosity to everyone she knew. Nan spent most of her life helping to care for loved ones, so the family would like to extend sincere thanks to Carmen from Homecare, palliative care nurses and the many staff members at Central Park Lodge, Homecare, and Donwood Manor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nan's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, a cause near and dear to the family. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 15 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Center. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111
