SIETSKE (SALLY) POSTHUMUS (published on August 21, 2010)

SIETSKE (SALLY) POSTHUMUS Her children stand and bless her, her husband praises her. Proverbs 31:28 Peacefully, with her loving husband holding her hand and surrounded by her family at Concordia Hospital on August 18, 2010 at the age of 84, Sietske (Sally) Posthumus went home to be with her Lord and Saviour. Sietske was born in Janum, Friesland, Netherlands on January 1, 1926. She immigrated to Canada with her husband in 1951. Sietske will be forever loved by her best friend and husband of almost 60 years, Marten. She will always be Mom and Beppe to all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Agnes and John VanDorp (Brian and Darlene, Darryl and Joanne, Richard and Malinda, Johnny) (Stephen, Seraphine, Makayla); Martin Jr. (Marlene, David and Charla, Sheryl and Ross, Kristen and Daniel (Matthew, Katie, Ashley, Alyia, Lexi); Judy (Charlene and Eddie) (Nathan, Pandora, Aiden); Jerome and Susie (Alaina and Daniel (Giselle); Tim and Tammy (Myles and Kyla); Debra and Peter (Trever and Garnet). As well as her dearest sisters, Boukje, Grace, Nel and Pietje. Predeceased by her brother Allen. Sietske spent her life devoting herself to her faith, her husband, her family and her friends. The humility in which she lived her life everyday has inspired and blessed our lives in so many ways that we will be forever changed by it. Sietske will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humour, her infectious laugh and her beautiful smile. Your arms were always open when I needed a hug. Your heart understood when I needed a friend. Your gentle eyes were stern when I needed a lesson. Your strength and love has guided me and gave me wings to fly. - Sarah Malin A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Covenant Christian Reformed Church located at 653 Knowles Ave. A reception to follow at the church.
