HENRY SCHULTZ On Wednesday, September 15, 2010, Henry Schultz passed away at Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 88 years. Left to mourn Henry's passing and cherish his memory are his children Jeannette Nevile (Don) of Waterloo, Dennis Schultz (Elaine) of Winnipeg, Brenda Lee Bestelechman (David) of Winnipeg; grandchildren Suzanne Nevile, Adrienne Nevile (Paul ), Christopher Nevile, Maria Schultz, Jean-Marc Schultz, Danielle Schultz and Troy Bestelechman; brothers Arthur, Herbert (Eileen), Stanley (Elaine); sister Adeline Biedler ; stepsister Dorothy Singbeil; brother-in-law Jake Sachvie, Gordon Topnik (Ruth); sisters-in-law Gladys Schultz, Elsie Topnik; numerous nephews; nieces; Godchildren, and many close friends. He was predeceased by his wife Rose in 2006, parents Wilhelm and Emilie; brothers Reinhold, Manuel, Leonard; sister Adela Beckman; brothers-in-law Ted, Harold, Philip, Arnold, Art, Jake, Harry; sisters-in-law Emily, Etta, Frieda, Lily, Olga and Tillie. Born and raised in Friedensfeld, Henry's early life was spent in farming. He and Rose were married in 1944. In 1946 they moved to Winnipeg where he spent over 60 years in the construction trade, first as a Carpenter and then with his own company. Henry built many warehouses, stores, churches and restaurants, including many of the first A Ws in Canada. He especially enjoyed building houses and served as president of the Manitoba Home Builder's Association. He was a longtime member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross, and served in many capacities including Sunday school superintendent and president of the Church Council and the congregation's retirement residence, Arms of the Cross. Henry will be remembered for his gracious hospitality and generous entertaining. He and Rose loved to travel and did so extensively. Henry's Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Lutheran Church of The Cross, 560 Arlington Street, with Pastor Don Engel, presider. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Avenue. For those who wish, viewing will be held prior to Henry's Service. Our family extends special thanks to the entire staff on 4W at Deer Lodge Centre for their help and kindness during his stay. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of one's choice.
