JEAN ELLIS SIRANT (published on September 18, 2010)

JEAN ELLIS SIRANT (nee BLEWETT) It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, in Donwood Manor on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at the age of 87 years. Left to cherish her memory are her sons Richard, Larry (Lesley) grandchildren, Paul (Meghann) and David; great grandchild Madison; and two sisters Madeline and Doreen. Mom was predeceased by her husband Alexander in 2005. Her mother Maude, father Richard, her brother Edgar and sisters Winnifred and Muriel. Mom was born in Penzance, England and with her family, grew up in Fort William, Ontario, where she eventually met her husband Alexander. They were married in Winnipeg in 1946, where they raised their family. Mom had many talents such as sewing and baking, but was known for her cake decorating, especially wedding and birthday cakes. Mom and dad loved travelling, especially to Barbados, where they danced their nights away. While at Donwood Mom loved to celebrate all the special days of the year and put on her hats in celebration of Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Canada Day and Halloween to the delight of the people at Donwood. Thank you to Jean's niece Donna and her husband Jerry for their many special visits over the years. We would also like to thank the staff of Donwood EPH 2 South for the special care they gave to Mom in the last years of her life. In keeping with mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a private family gathering. Donations in Jean's memory may be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation, #200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3L 0K6. KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson Hwy. 338-0331 Condolences may be sent to www.klassenfuneralhome.com
