LYNDA JUDITH SLAVUTA (published on September 20, 2010)

LYNDA JUDITH SLAVUTA It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lynda Slavuta (nee Hamrlik) on September 16 2010, at the age of 57. Left to mourn her passing is her husband of 37 years, Johnny, son Jayson, daugther-in-law Nicki and her precious grandchildren Jayden and Haylee with her highly anticipated third grandchild on the way. Lynda also leaves to mourn her passing brothers Grant (Eileen), Evan (Jolana), Eric (Sadie) and sister Wendy (Ken) Klimchuk. Nieces and nephews, Lana, Derek, Janaya, Jovan, Karmyn and Mark. Father-in-law Donald, mother-in-law Helen, brothers-in-law Donnie (Helen), Jerry (Mindy) and sisters-in-law, Diane, Barbara and Shirley, and many nieces and nephews on Johnny's side of the family along with many close friends whose friendships she cherished very much. Lynda was predeceased by her parents Jack and Helen, infant baby sister Gail and sister-in-law Eileen. Lynda was born at home on the family farm near Hodgson, Manitoba on November 17, 1952. After attending school in Marble Ridge and Fisher Branch she moved to Winnipeg and began her lifelong career as a hairstylist. She married Johnny Slavuta on September 30, 1972. Then came along her pride and joy, Jayson. After retiring from Tucketts Hair Salon, Lynda began helping her husband in the catering business. She will always be remembered for her wonderful cooking skills, you never left her house hungry. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. They meant the world to her and were mentioned in every phone conversation. She had a very special relationship with her grandson Jayden, they would spend hours together talking and giggling. Lynda loved spoiling both grandkids, nothing was too much for them in her eyes. Baba will forever be in our hearts and we will never go a day without thinking of her and missing her. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Lynda's life will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010, 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Ave. West. Private interment to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on Lynda's behalf to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or CancerCare Manitoba.
