LEONARD THOMAS HILTON July 2, 1931 October 6, 2010 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Leonard Hilton on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Leonard was the middle child of seven and born on July 2, 1931, to Tilla and Gordon Hilton. In 1950 Leonard moved up north to play hockey with the Flin Flon Bombers for one year. In 1951 and 1952 he played hockey in Scotland for the Dundee Tigers and it was there he met and married Olive Barr and had one daughter. When he returned to Winnipeg he worked as a butcher and then in 1968 started working for Winnipeg Hydro underground and after 27 years retired in 1995. Leonard was a Past President of the Victoria Curling Club and for years a member of the Canadian Legion. Leonard is survived by his daughter Lorraine Hilton of London, England; his sister Verna, and brothers, Ken (Evelyn) of Winnipeg and Ernie (Charlene) of Edmonton, 15 nieces and nephews and his step-daughters, Alice Bisiak, Carrie Slawinski and Diane Kornyk. He was predeceased by his brother and best friend Roy on April 25, 2000; his sisters, Doreen Lindsay in 1982 and Carol Lawton in 1971. In keeping with Leonard's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment has been held at Brookside Cemetery beside his brother Roy and in his parents' grave.
