NORMAN P. POLINTAN (published on October 12, 2010)



NORMAN P. POLINTAN Norman P. Polintan joined the creator on October 8, 2010 at the age of 78 years. Norman was born on April 10, 1932 at Calamba City, Laguna, Philippines. He graduated from Lyceum of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce Degree. He worked as an Accountant for the Department of Public Highways in the Philippines. He also taught economics at the Feati Institute of Technology during the 1960s and 1970s. After moving to Canada he became an active member of the Mandaragat Group and served as a distinguished Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus from 1998 to 1999. He was a member of the Winnipeg Filipino Project. He served at St. Edward The Confessor Church as a Communion Minister from 1978 until 2000. In Winnipeg Norman worked for Peerless Garments Ltd as a Shipping Clerk from 1977 until his retirement. He is survived by his wife Anastacia; siblings, Cynthia, Edna and Jorge of the Philippines; nieces, Elizabeth, Jessica, Arcadia; grandniece Charlita; grandnephew John Claire and numerous nieces and nephews in the Philippines. Viewing will be from 6:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. Friday, October 15, 2010 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. Prayers will be said at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, 836 Arlington Street, with the Rev. Fr. Rainerio Sarce the celebrant. He will be laid to rest in Rizal Memorial Park, Calamba City, Laguna, Philippines. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care Ward for the excellent care and concern given to Norman during a most difficult time.
