| VALERIA (VI) MATTHEW (nee HEDGES) May 10, 1928 - October 11, 2010 With great sadness we announce the passing of Vi at the age of 82 years. Vi was predeceased by her loving husband William (Bill), after 52 years of marriage. Dad passed away in 2002. Leaving to cherish Vi's memory are her daughter Sheila (Marcel) Laroche, son Rob (Gwen) Matthew, grandchildren Philip Laroche, Jeremy and Jessica Matthew, her nieces and nephew and their families, twin cousins Tom and Herb Hedges, and also many friends. Vi lived in Transcona all her life until moving to River East Personal Care Home in 2005. Vi's pride and joy were her home, family and friends, and the time they spent together at the cottage in Ottermere, Ontario. She loved cooking, curling, travelling, reading, and knitting for family and the Christmas Cheer Board. A very special thank you to all the staff at River East Personal Care Home for their compassion and care to Vi. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Home. A private urn placement will be held in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. We miss you. Love always.
