JOYCE LATTA (published on October 16, 2010)

JOYCE LATTA 1922 - 2010 On October 11, 2010, a beautiful autumn day with blue skies and puffy clouds, just the way she liked them, Joyce Latta passed away. It was a long slow journey from her first stroke over three years ago. And for someone who was proudly independent, it was a big adjustment to have to depend on others for her needs. But she never lost her dignity or her appreciation for the things that were done for her and was unfailingly gracious to those who looked after her. Joyce was born in London, England in 1922, one of triplets. She was one of the many war brides who immigrated to Canada after the war. Joyce was predeceased by her husband Bob in 1979, and by all of her siblings. She is survived by her son Roger (Ruth), daughter Marilyn (Bill), special daughter Carol, and many relatives in England. Joyce's greatest calling in life was being a Mom and a home maker, although she did work outside the home at times. She enjoyed long walks with her devoted dog, Misty, gardening, working on intricate needlepoint pictures and beating her friends at Rummoli. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at The Golden Door for the care they gave Joyce and the commitment they show to an often difficult job. A private service was held at Elmwood Cemetery on October 15, 2010. FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS IN CARE OF: WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 211 REGENT AVENUE, WEST (AT BOND ST.) 224-1525
