LEE DOUGLAS WAUTIER (published on October 16, 2010)

LEE DOUGLAS WAUTIER March 3, 1953 - October 4, 2010 Lee passed away peacefully after courageously battling two major cancers. He leaves to mourn his passing Janice, his wife of 32 years; daughter Veronica; son Andrew; mother-in-law Olive Dziedzic; brother-in-law Richard (Romka); sister-in-law Connie; extended family and friends and his Bichon babies' Candy and Rocky. He was predeceased by parents George and Grace; father-in-law Walter Dziedzic, and our healing' dog Fudgekle. Lee was born in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. As an Air Force brat' he lived in various parts of Canada, four years in Germany and eventually settled in Winnipeg. He was employed at Motor Coach Industries as a welder for 25 years. Despite failing health, Lee volunteered with Cans for Cures and also Winnipeg Harvest at two local churches. There are countless numbers of people to thank for journeying with Lee and his family during his health challenges over the past nine years. Heartfelt gratitude to family and friends, Janice's colleagues in Louis Riel School Division and numerous health professionals including the compassionate caregivers at River East Personal Care Home. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. (across from Brookside Cemetery). A private interment will follow at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. Everyone is asked to bring non-perishable food items to the service in support of Winnipeg Harvest. If friends so desire, monetary donations in Lee's name may also be made to Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter, 3062 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3K 0Y1.
