MARY LIDDELL HUTCHINSON (published on October 30, 2010)



MARY LIDDELL HUTCHINSON May 19, 1923 October 28, 2010 On Thursday, October 28, 2010, Mary died at the Grace Hospice at the age of 87 years. Mary is survived by her niece, Linda (Ken) Stratton; nephew, Trevor (Gisèle) Hutchinson; grand-nephew, Neil (Lisa) Stratton; grand-nieces, Arlene Stratton (Lawren Green), Andrea (Eric) Robert, Lindsay Hutchinson; great- grand-nieces, Madelyn and Julia Stratton. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Mary and Rudolph Hutchinson; brother, Herb; and sister-in-law, Helen Hutchinson. Mary was born in Ninette, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg at the age of five. She lived much of her life in Elmwood and East Kildonan. She attended Lord Selkirk and St. John's Tech schools. Mary was always athletically active, enjoying speed skating, biking, bowling, curling and golfing. She golfed for 36 years at the Charleswood Golf Club and curled at the Charleswood Curling Club for many years. She was an enthusiastic supporter of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and was a season ticket holder for 43 years. Mary enjoyed handcrafts and latterly knitted extensively for the Christmas Cheer Board. Family was very important to Mary; she showed her love by being involved in their lives and even providing care for loved ones. In compliance with Mary's wishes, a private family interment will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank Judy and Nicole for their professional dedication and loving care of Auntie Mary for many years. They would also like to express their appreciation to the staff at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Palliative Care Program and the Salvation Army Grace Hospice for their excellent care of Auntie Mary and her family.
