ROSEMARIE RODWAY (nee CHEQUIS) September 16, 1927 - October 26, 2010 We will meet again... Rosemarie Rodway's journey of 83 years in this world ended peacefully on October 26, 2010 with her loving husband Jack by her side at the Personal Care Centre in Lions Manor. Rose was born in Shoal Lake and raised by her grandparents (Grandpa and Grandma Kimpinski) in Neepawa. At 16, Rose, a strong willed woman, travelled to B.C. with her family. Dismayed by the weather she returned to sunny Manitoba to work in the Portage Hospital caring for mentally challenged patients. Shortly after she met and married Jack. Together they raised their family on Toronto Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba and celebrated 57 years of marriage. She is survived by her husband Jack Rodway. Daughter Brenda, husband Ron and children, Jason and Crystal McKay. Son Daniel, children, Tyler, Marissa and Curtis Rodway. Son Robert, wife Darlene and daughter Lisa Rodway. Son Terry, children, Neil, Cathy and Jonathon Rodway. Rose will be dearly missed by her immediate family, her Aunt Lena, as well Rose's sisters, Helen (Eric) Rolin, Joyce (Len deceased) Johnson, Gwen (Dick deceased) Wallis, Sharon (Gabe) Paradis, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Anne (nee Kimpinski) and stepfather Joseph Edward Chequis. Rose will always be remembered for her independence, tenacity and generosity, as well as for her amazing cooking and baking skills. Her dedication and love for her family and friends will never be forgotten. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Lions Manor for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Rosemarie and the family. Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg with reception to follow.
