ANNE TRUESDALE (published on October 30, 2010)

ANNE TRUESDALE (MICHALUK) December 26, 1930 - October 5, 2010 Our Dear Anne left us at the Nanaimo, BC hospital on the evening of October 5, 2010 at the age of 79 years, as the result of cancer. Anne loved all animals. She doted on her three dogs, Merlin, Porche and Chanel, and tabby cat Jeremy. They all survive her and will remain in the care of husband Ron. She is also survived by brother-in-law Lou Truesdale; cousin Francis Kasper, other cousins and nephews in British Columbia and Manitoba, plus her childhood friends Pauline Chester (Maling) and Elsie Omelan of Winnipeg who are also grieving our loss. Anne spent her childhood growing up on Curtis Street in the Point Douglas area of Winnipeg, attending schools in the North End and Point Douglas. She began her working career with the Eaton's store where she worked her way up to the Interior Design Studio where she excelled. In 1966 Anne married Ron when they moved to Victoria, BC. She began working for the Better Business Bureau as assistant to the Director for Vancouver Island where she remained until 1971 when she began a 20 year career with the Federal Government at the Old Age Security and Canada Pension Offices in Victoria and Vancouver. She was always well liked for her sense of humour, honesty and her well known ability to Call a Spade a Spade . On retirement in 1991 Anne and Ron moved from Richmond, BC to Qualicum Beach, BC where they resided in the Chartwell area. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life was held on Monday, October 18, 2010.
