PETER GERYLO (published on January 04, 2011)



PETER GERYLO June 28, 1914 - December 31, 2010 On December 31, 2010 at the Red River Personal Care Home, Peter Gerylo, aged 96 years passed away after a brief illness. He was a beloved uncle to Don (Gail) Gerylo, Marlene Skiba (Ken - deceased), Darlene (Jim) Sergent, Terry Gerylo - deceased (Debbie), Valerie (Terry) Wuzinski, David (Elodie) Harrison, Dennis (Wendy) Harrison, Steven (Janice) Gerylo, Wayne Gerylo and all their children. Peter was predeceased by his father Wasyl, mother Tekina, sister Olga (Fred) Harrison, brothers, Michael, Metro, Andrew, Tom, Paul and Steve and his nephew Terry Gerylo. He was born June 28, 1914 in East Selkirk and attended school there. He served in the armed forces during the Second World War. Peter worked at Canada Packers and then at Happy Thought School. He spent most of his later years taking loving care of his mother then his father and then his brother Tom. He gave many years caring for his family. He was a kind, gentle man, never thinking of himself, only others that needed him. Bless you Uncle Peter, we love you. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church in East Selkirk with Father Peter Chorney officiating. Interment will follow in the East Selkirk Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don and Steven Gerylo, David and Dennis Harrison, Terry Wuzinski and Dean Pruden.
