MARGARET MARY GIBSON (published on January 13, 2011)

MARGARET MARY GIBSON It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Margaret Mary (Marie) Gibson, on Saturday, January 8, 2011, with her family by her side. Marie will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend of 25 years, Sylvester Predinchuk; her sons Barry (Tammy), Sean and Blair and their father Walter Gibson; her brothers Sean, Dermot, Noel and their families; her sisters Evie, Bea, Pat, Kay and their families; her grandchildren, Kelsey Gibson, Justin, Luke, Aaron and Carlie Predinchuk, Kyle and Sarah Roberts; Sylvester's brothers, Lawrence (Cheryl Taylor) and Leo Predinchuk; his daughters Jodie Predinchuk (Sean Fitzgerald) and Kim Cherette (Mike) and son Rob Predinchuk (Lisa); long time friends Noreen Drozda, Elizabeth McBride, Wilf McCallum and all her friends at Lester Beach and Arden Place in St. Vital. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Patrick and Elizabeth Donegan, brother Leo and infant brother Sean. Marie was born in Courtown District of Gorey, Wexford County, Ireland on July 21, 1934 and came to Canada in 1960. She cherished her Irish heritage and went back home often to visit her family in Ireland and England. Marie was a kind gentle woman that loved her family dearly and always went out of her way to help others. She loved to go for walks with Sylvester almost every day to St. Vital Park where they would feed the birds, ducks, chipmunks and squirrels. The animals seemed drawn to her friendly nature and would often eat right out of her hand. Marie also spent many happy summers with Sylvester at the cottage at Lester Beach and going to garage sales in Winnipeg, proudly displaying and sharing their super deals and buys . Her most cherished, important things in life were family, friends, and being outdoors with nature. We are going to miss you terribly mum. We love you dearly and will always cherish you in our hearts and memories. We will take comfort in knowing that you will always be here with us. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of Marie's life will be held on Saturday, January 15, at 11:30 a.m. in Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Marie loved flowers, but was a very practical person and in her memory we know she would have much rather preferred a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or the charity of your choice. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E. J. COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald St. 253-5086
