She leaves to mourn her daughter Maxine Chamish (Stephen), her son Neil (Nancy), her son Gary, and her grandson Gavin. She is also survived by her sister Irene Leckie in Fredericton. She went to St. John's High School and set out to work as a bookkeeper. She eventually married her husband Bill and raised her family of four children. Ruth never left the neighbourhood where she grew up. Her life revolved around her family. She was a very loyal and patient mother. Mom was involved with many charities and did volunteer work throughout her life. She remained active and was line dancing, entertaining in seniors homes to audiences younger than herself. Her day started with breakfast at Burger King with the gang. You knew never to disturb her when she watched The Young and the Restless . Everyone will miss her great advice and her famous saying This too shall pass . Ruth was never without her crossword puzzles. The best gift you could give her was erasable pens. She will always be remembered for her question Do you know the word for ... The family would like to thank Betty and Boris Znidarek for their constant and loyal friendship and support. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. |
