JEAN STIRLING (published on January 27, 2011)
JEAN STIRLING On January 19, 2011, Jean's life adventure lead her to join her mom (Mary Ma ), dad (William), brother Jim (Big Red), and her close friends who predeceased her. Jean had an unwavering, positive attitude and zest for life. Rather than fear or live in regret, Jean viewed her medical challenges and her date with destiny as adventures. She lived each day, always had a song in her voice, and dismissed bad days with a this too shall pass . Jean cared about others, especially those who she thought to be less fortunate than herself. She felt blessed for the support of her doctors, nurses, and friends who got her through the tough times. We will all miss her signature Toodles! . Fittingly born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1928, Jean's career spanned Eaton's, Winnipeg Police Force, Western Savings and Loans, and Investors Syndicate. Jean enjoyed countless hobbies and interests but above all she cherished being with friends and family. Left to celebrate her life and fondly remember her are her niece Sandra (mother Shirley) of Edmonton and her great-niece Dawn of Calgary. Also her very close, life-long friends the Greeley's and Larke's who were, in essence, family. Jean's many friends and fellow bingo and crib players at Ashbury Estates, and her dialysis family at Seven Oaks Hospital, will also fondly remember her. Cremation has taken place, and as Jean wanted, a service to celebrate her life will be held with her friends at the Ashbury Place Seniors Club Room, 299 Queen Street, at 1:00 p.m., on January 30, 2011. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada. Toodles Jean, Toodles. |
