DOUGLAS PETER MOROSKI (published on February 23, 2011)

DOUGLAS PETER MOROSKI It is with deep sorrow we announce the sudden passing of our brother Douglas Moroski, on February 17, 2011, at the age of 61. Douglas was born August 2, 1949, at an early age he left home to start his working career. He operated heavy equipment, built roads in northern Manitoba, gold mining in the Yukon, logging and trucking throughout Canada and the United States. He was a gifted artist which was evident in his fine wood working and paintings that he displayed and shared with family and friends. Left to mourn are his sisters: Gloria (Melvin) Dudar; Dal, Rob; Debbie (Larry) Man; Clint, Rachel, Katie Lou, Mitchell; Dale; Kristopher, Pamela, Sara; Cathy (Russell) Wishnowski; Cassie, Wendy, Eric; Stacy (Kevin) Shpak; Matthew, Brittney, Nattasha. Brothers: Randal (Venise) Mielan, Ezekiel; Ron (Denise); Peter, Billie. Two sons, Russell and Darrell, and 11 great-nieces and nephews. Douglas was predeceased by his parents Peter and Bernice; brother Barry; nephews Joshua and James Shpak. Douglas will be remembered for his laugh, sharing a good story about his jobs, travels and people he met along the way; and his straight forward approach to life after many of life's challenges. He will be particularly missed by his nephews Peter and Billie who enjoyed his many visits. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Geysir Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arborg Heritage Village, Box 4007, Arborg, MB R0C 0A0. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements. wwwgilbartfuneralhome.com
