WANDA F. BARTOSEK (published on February 23, 2011)

WANDA F. BARTOSEK (nee Poitras) It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Wanda Bartosek. She fell asleep peacefully with her family by her side on February 19, 2011. Wanda will be greatly missed by her loving husband Lou of 35 years, her son Lindsay and wife Robyn, her grandchildren Hadley and Everett; her mother Evelyn and mother-in-law Rose; her siblings Marj, Rod and wife Pat, Deb and husband Rick, and sister-in-law Carolyn and husband Dave. She also had many nieces and nephews that she loved and was Auntie Wanda to so many more. She was predeceased by her father Arthur. Wanda was a kind and loving person who freely gave of herself to others. Family was such a big part of her life and she did all she could for them - from something simple like beloved taco night, to her beautiful knit gifts she enjoyed making so much, to just being there to listen as a good friend. There are so many cherished memories we will keep in our hearts. Wanda was convinced of the Bible's promise of paradise, where the pain, suffering and death experienced now will be a thing of the past. She lived her life serving her God, Jehovah; spending much time and effort telling others about her beliefs - bringing them hope, which brought her joy. She herself was comforted knowing Jehovah has a longing to reunite dead loved ones with their families, and that being in Jehovah's memory is a precious, safe place to be. Her last few days came so fast she was not able to say thank you for all the kind thoughts and prayers she received from her spiritual brothers and sisters of the congregations she was a part of over the years - Elmwood congregation, Clareview congregation in Edmonton, Clayburn congregation in Abbottsford, and finally Landsdowne congregation. The letters, emails and cards proved to be a real source of strength and encouragement to her, and were reread often. Her family wants to express appreciation to the many doctors and nurses that helped take care of Wanda during her battle with cancer. According to her wishes, cremation has already taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall Centre at 227 Lakewood Blvd. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Gateway Kingdom Hall Complex on 937 Gateway Road.
