| HERDIS CHEVRIER March 15 1912 - February 27 2011 With great sadness we announce the death of Herdis Chevrier on Sunday, February 27, 2011. She was predeceased by her loving husband Douglas, brothers Martyn Best, Douglass Best and Alan Best, and sister Betty Sutton. Herdis is survived by her brother Don Best, her son Damon (Uzma Ansari), daughter Andrea (Tom Lenton), grandchildren Keith and Mark Lenton and Jonah and Mariam Chevrier. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families. At various times Mom worked for the Rust Lab and the School of Architecture at the University of Manitoba, Credit Foncier, the Dependents Advisory Department of the Federal Government, and the Manitoba Association of Architects. She was involved with the Winnipeg Art Gallery, Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the Manitoba Antique Association. The family wishes to thank Tally Doroshuk for her help and friendship over the past 10 years. We also thank the staff of Home Care and Palliative Care for enabling Mom to die at home. Mom's remains were donated to the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Manitoba and, at her request, no service will be held. If friends wish, donations may be made in her memory to the local Humane Society. |
