When her family moved to Winnipeg, Carolyn was admitted to Manitoba Developmental Centre in February, 1973. Carolyn loved to listen to music. Her favourite singer was Patsy Cline. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Rummy, when she could beat the staff. Smoking DuMaurier cigarettes and drinking Coke were the greatest pleasures that she enjoyed. She would entertain everyone by singing the advertising jingles for these products. Carolyn also loved a nice hot cup of coffee with lots of sweetener. In December, 2008, Carolyn began having mobility issues and became dependent on a wheelchair to get around. In January, 2009 she was transferred to Westview where she was currently residing.
