NANCY (ANNIE) VIVIAN (published on March 05, 2011)

NANCY (ANNIE) VIVIAN (nee DIXON) Nancy, born April 30, 1921, passed away peacefully at home with her family on February 25, 2011. Nancy will be greatly missed and forever remembered by her children, Dale (Michael), Bill (Judy), Judy, Christina (Roy) and her other son Wally, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, along with in-laws Pat and Frank. She was predeceased by her husband Bill, daughter Sharon, brother Dudley, and most recently her identical twin Lucy, whom she missed terribly. Nancy came to Canada from Barrow-in-Furness, England in 1924. Almost her whole life was spent in Morse Place. Mom made a career of home and family; always caring and giving. As Uncle Frank says, even if you weren't family, she made you feel like you were. Mom always appreciated the things people did for her, like bringing dinner over or dropping in for tea. Especially during the last few months, our house was the place to come to; apple Annie was always ready with a pot of tea. Some of her favourite times were at the Crest and Second Inn at Faloma Beach, with her family each year and she never said no to a trip to Hawaii or Mexico. Nanny had a great influence on her grandchildren's lives, being there whenever she was needed. She always had an open mind no matter what, and the fridge was always open too. Nancy faced all challenges head on and in a very positive way. To all who knew her, have a cup of tea and remember all of the good times you shared with her around the kitchen table. The family would like to thank all the nursing staff for their kindness towards our Mom and Nanny, especially Ola, Nicole, Barb, Richard and Gord. Juliette thanks for being there. Following Nancy's wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to any no kill animal shelter in Winnipeg.
