MARY PATRICIA VAUGHAN GOULDING (published on March 05, 2011)

MARY PATRICIA VAUGHAN GOULDING (nee GROVES) February 27, 2011 Born May 17, 1932 in Winnipeg, Manitoba where she grew up and attended University of Manitoba graduating in 1953 with B.Sc. (Home Economics). Upon marriage she moved to Alberta where she was a stay-at-home mom to her four children (Scott, Bruce, Heather and Megan). Despite this, she devoted a considerable amount of her life as a Home Economics teacher and Social Worker; then part time as a substitute teacher with various School Boards, Night School instructor, swimming instructor, Docent at Heritage Park, Ski Friend at Lake Louise, and Tour Manager for Various Bus Companies. The last third of her life was spent in Victoria where she continued her love of the outdoors by belonging to various hiking and cycling clubs as well as being a member of the YM / YWCA at recreation centre at Royal Roads University and Esquimalt Recreation Centre in addition to spending several years volunteering for Victoria Literacy. Mary's many stories of her varied world travels and adventures will remain in our hearts and memories, but she will be deeply missed as a vibrant spark to countless friends and her children. Mary will never be truly gone, because she has been the ultimate example of how to live ones life to the fullest, and to embrace every day as a gift, as she was to us. In lieu of flowers, Mary requested that donations be sent to Central Asia Institute (CAI),
