JAMES THOMAS CUNDALL August 8, 1944 - March 25, 2011 Suddenly, at his residence, James Thomas Cundall passed away at the age of 66 years. He is survived by his brother Donald Cundall (Marlene); sisters Nancy Adkins (Bob) and Kathie Gagnon (Laith) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Margaret Cundall, his brothers Barry and Allan, and sister Lillian. Jim was born in Winnipeg and grew up on Atlantic Avenue. He was always a proud North Ender with fond and vivid memories of his childhood. He attended Luxton, St. John's High School and the Manitoba Institute of Technology (Red River Community College). He was part of a large, lively family and enjoyed playing hockey and other sports at the Luxton Community Club. Jim started his employment with the Winnipeg Free Press and spent most of his career as the Produce Manager at Merchant's Consolidated. Later in his life, Jim worked at Elite Communications and for the past few years was enjoying retirement. Jim was an avid curler, most recently as a member of a rink at the Granite Curling Club. He loved watching curling live and on television. He was also a life-long Bomber fan and attended as many games as possible. Jim was very friendly and outgoing. He loved talking about cars, sports, local issues and seeing his friends at Sals . Jim loved all family events and being with family at the cottages at Victoria Beach and Lake of the Woods. A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. His ashes will be interred in St. John's Cathedral Cemetery at a later date.
