SIMONE HELENE DAVIDSON (nee PERRON) Peacefully on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at the age of 99 years, Simone passed away in her sleep and went to be with her Saviour. She is survived by her five children: Jack (Pauline) from Vernon, BC, Val (Bill Stewart) from Calgary, Jean (George Hanson) from Oakbank, Pat (Paul DeCraene) and Jo-Anne (Jack Neaman) from Winnipeg. She also leaves eight grandchildren: Daniel (Cindy), Dean (Dawn), Stephen, Bradley (Belinda), Krista (Calvin), Dawn (Terry), Colin (Kirsten), Erin (Sean); 15 great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Bill, Danielle, Abigail, Eila, Will, Hannah, Nathaniel, Miikka, Mikaela, Fischer, Simone, Luka, Jessie, Aaron; and three sisters-in-law: Francis Davidson, Melina Perron and Julie Perron; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald in 1980; her parents Edouardina Savoie and Alexandre Perron; and six siblings: Bernard, Wilfred, Jeanne, Marie, Joseph and Gerald. Simone was born in St. Raymond, Manitoba on May 17, 1911, and moved to Ste. Anne where she had her schooling and started her teaching career. There she met and married Gerald Davidson, then moved to Transcona where they raised their family. She later returned to teaching in Transcona for another 19 years. She was devoted to her students and especially her family, showing her love and support to them in any way possible. In 2010 she moved to Sterling House where she made some good friends and was assisted in her daily needs. We thank you for your care over the last year. We would also like to thank the staff on 4-south at Victoria Hospital for their excellent care of Mom in her last week. Viewing and prayers will be held on Monday, March 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street in St. Boniface, led by Sister Rose. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 252 Dubuc Street in St. Boniface, Father Fred Olds officiating. Lunch will follow directly, then interment will be at the Transcona Cemetery. Mom will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was a caring Mother to her children, a loving Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family unconditionally and lived her life with a constant concern for others.
