MYRA W. KEATINGE (published on March 28, 2011)



MYRA W. KEATINGE Myra passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital on the morning of March 25, 2011. She was born in Winnipeg on September 24, 1919, the only child of Albert and Constance Kelley. She resided in the West end during her youth and attended Isbister School followed by business College. She married Rex in 1944 and in 1947 gave birth to her son Condren. Myra had a long and rewarding career outside the home and was employed by War Time Prices, followed by 31 years in the public service at CFB Winnipeg- Base Supply, Myra was a generous, kind, independent woman, a lover of animals and a supporter of countless charities and foundations. Myra was predeceased by her husband Rex (2001) and her son Con (Rex) (2004). She is survived by her daughter-in-law Valerie, the Millers of Ontario, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Eileen and Jim, nephew Glenn (Kim), Kevin (Karen), great-nephew Craig and many close friends. A special note of thanks to those who offered support in the past few years, to Cheryl who was always available to lend a helping hand and to the staff at Heritage Lodge where Myra was a resident for the past four months. At Myra's request, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter, 3064 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3K 0Y1 or a charity of your choice.
