KENT WILLIAMS (published on September 10, 2011)

KENT WILLIAMS 1950 - 2011 After a courageous year long battle with lymphoma, Kent passed on peacefully with his loving family by his side on September 2, 2011. Kent was vibrant, helpful, curious, creative, adventurous, and fun-loving throughout his life. Most of all, he was a kind unassuming man who loved the simple things in life, like sharing thoughtful discussions, enjoying the company of his family, working on his own and his family's homes in his spare time, watching a Blue Bomber football game, or spending time at his favourite place - the beach! Kent was truly able to do anything that he set his mind to. He was the consummate Mr. Fix-it, and his knowledge and expertise were sought out by many. Owing to his varied interests, Kent had many successful careers throughout his life. Foremost among his interests was electronics, which had been his passion since childhood (his grandmother fittingly called him a modern Edison), and he pursued certificates in Electronics Servicing and Industrial Electronics in the early 1970s and later an Electronics Engineering Technology diploma, all at RRC. Kent was most recently employed as an inspector with Manitoba Infrastructure and Technology, a job he loved. His greatest love, however, was for his family and particularly for his three sons, Trevor (Andrea), Kyle, and Braedon. Also, left to mourn the loss of this wonderful man are his mother Edna, his sister Mary-Anne, his brother Dano and sister-in-law Katie, and nephews Garnet (Kim), Carlan (Andrea), and Shayne (Christie), great-nieces Shaylynn, Michaela, Hayley, and Tasha, and great-nephews Tyson and Keenan, as well as numerous other family members and dear friends and colleagues. A celebration of Kent's life will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd, on Sunday, September 25, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. In accordance with Kent's wishes, private cremation will precede the service, and private interment of remains will be held at a later date. The family thanks all of the caring and dedicated staff at CancerCare Manitoba McCharles Unit, St. Boniface Hospital's Palliative Care Unit, and WRHA Homecare Services. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550
