ROSE VIOLET FANSTONE (published on September 10, 2011)

ROSE VIOLET FANSTONE 1914 - 2011 At the age of 96 years on September 6, 2011 Rose passed away peacefully at Tuxedo Villa her last home for seven years. Many thanks to the caring and compassionate staff, and Dr. Moran De Muller. Born in Winnipeg in 1914, Rose Harford was raised with two older sisters Daisy and Alice. After completing grade eight with honours, to help support her family, Rose was employed by T. Eaton Co. in the Fancy Goods Department'. Thus began her lifelong love of crafts and sewing. Her projects are owned and enjoyed by family and friends. In 1937, Rose married long time sweetheart Gordon Fanstone. After living in Transcona, Rose and Gord moved to St. James with their young family. Summers were always spent at Lake Malachi, their favourite place. Rose was Gord's help mate and could find anything for him, be it tools for a repair job or his favourite socks. She was a member of Headingley United Church, volunteered many years as a hospital pink lady, and helped Gord with Shriner activities from 1968 - 2003. Rose was a wonderful wife, mom, gramma and great-gramma and will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her father, mother, two sisters and husband Gordon. Rose is survived by her daughters Helen (Jim) of Mission, BC and Pat (Dan) of Willis, Texas and Winnipeg, son Jim (Marie) of Victoria, BC, grandchildren; Glenn (Karen), Janine (Brett), Lorne (Aimee) and Dean. Great-grandchildren; Alysha, Robyn, Dimika, Cameron and Anna, Nieces Joan of BC and Betty of Winnipeg. Love you Mom NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE (204) 949-2200
