ESTHER GRAFF (published on September 10, 2011)

ESTHER GRAFF Peacefully, with family by her side, Esther Graff of Thompson, Manitoba passed away at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg on August 29, 2011, after a short illness. Leaving to celebrate her life and remember her spirit are husband Richard (Gary) of 48 years, daughters Kelly (Kent) Bell, and Sharon (Dennis) Mitchell, grandchildren Joey and Travis Bell, and Shaelyn Mitchell, as well as numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceasing Esther are her mother and father, mother and father-in-law, a son Darryl, her brothers Henry and Clarence, her sister Marjorie and her eldest grandson Cory Bell. Esther was born March 25, 1936 in Melville, SK and raised in North Battleford, SK. After leaving school, she worked in Regina, Calgary and Winnipeg where she met, fell in love with, and married Gary. In 1963 Gary got a job at INCO, and Esther followed shortly after and moved to Thompson. Esther was a kind, soft spoken, gentle and courageous soul who would do anything for anyone. She loved to do things for her children and grandchildren. Esther had a few jobs outside the home, but found that raising her children, then her grandchildren were most important to her. From colouring, drawing, cooking and baking to attending all sporting events, going on hockey road trips, and helping her grandsons with their paper routes. These were the things she liked do most. She loved to go for walks to the playground with her' dog Gia and Shaelyn and they both loved to work in the flower garden. She loved to put her old records on and dance to the music, and she taught Shaelyn the songs too. She made every occasion truly special as she was the anchor of the family. From birthdays, to Easter, Christmas and Thanksgiving, she was always there for everyone and liked to add her own flair to the occasion. The family will miss you and remember you everyday as you will stay in our hearts, minds and memories forever. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a future time.
