JAY LEWIS (published on September 13, 2011)

JAY LEWIS It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Jay Lewis on Friday, September 9, 2011, at the age of 55 years. He died peacefully after a brief but courageous battle with a sudden illness at the Health Sciences Centre. Left to forever cherish Jay's memory is his loving wife Debbie of 34 years of marriage; three children, Kelly, Daniel and Jody; mother Patricia; siblings Tamma and Troy; sisters-in-law, Stacey and Sharon; brother-in-law, Jim; father-in-law, Bob; as well as three nieces and his nephew. He was predeceased by his father Mervyn Lewis in 1975 and mother-in-law Joan Harper in 1994. During his short life, Jay had many accomplishments which include a successful career in the truss manufacturing industry. In 2010 he accomplished his lifelong dream when he became part owner and manager of his own company Truss Fab Inc. Jay enjoyed many hobbies, the most prominent of which was an avid interest in stamp collecting. He appreciated all facets of music. He was a talented painter and enjoyed painting from collections such as the Group of Seven and Van Gogh. Jay and his beautiful wife Debbie spent many wonderful winter vacations together. In his youth he played hockey and then passed his talent onto his son, whom he loved to watch play when the opportunity arose. He was greatly supportive of his three children, and never failed to attend music concerts, plays, sporting matches and all events that his children were part of. He will be greatly missed. On Friday, September 16, 2011 a Celebration of Jay's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at H.S.C. for a valiant effort, with special thanks to Dr. Oppenheimer for his compassion and kindness. The family wishes to thank all of the people who knew and loved Jay, for their support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Vasculitis Foundation Canada (for Churg Strauss Syndrome),
