SANDRA HATCH (published on September 15, 2011)

SANDRA HATCH 1949 - 2011 Following her three year courageous battle with cancer, Sandra Hatch passed away peacefully while in the comfort of her home in Medicine Hat on Friday, September 9, 2011 at the age of 61 years. Sandra's memory will be cherished in the hearts of her husband, Jack; son, Pat and daughter-in-law, Tamsin; two sisters, Kim (Terry) Russell and Carol Allen as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family pets will also miss her as she loved them dearly. She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, George Emms and Larry Emms. Sandra was born in Winnipeg, MB on November 16, 1949, a daughter to George and Helen Emms. She received her primary education in Winnipeg and later went to College in Brandon before finishing at the University of Lethbridge. She studied Human Resources and had a successful career working at CFB Suffield. Sandra married Jack Hatch in Winnipeg on December 24, 1966. With Jack in the Military, they moved extensively to various locations including Germany and throughout Canada. In 1988, with a final posting to CFB Suffield, they made Medicine Hat their home. She made many good friends and most recently during her illness, she really enjoyed visiting with the girls while playing cards (Skippo). She also liked the outdoors - travelling all over and going camping. This was time spent with family and she made the most of her time. Sandra was an advocate for the cancer awareness and volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society and was involved with the annual Terry Fox Run. She was a great lady and will be missed by all who knew her. In honour of Sandra's life, family paid their respects and shared in a private time of reflection. Condolences may be forwarded by visiting our website at www.cook If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Sandra's name may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 102 Crestwood Square One, 1865 Dunmore Road S.E., Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z8.
