VERONICA HUTCHINSON (published on September 17, 2011)

VERONICA HUTCHINSON (nee POLAK) It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Veronica Hutchinson on Thursday, September 15, 2011, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Veronica is survived by her daughter Joan and son-in-law Doug DeJonckheere, grandsons Ryan and Adam, sisters Helen Cvitkovitch and Madeline Polak, sister-in law June Hutchinson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bill, brothers-in-law Leo, Jim, John and Norman, sisters-in-law Doris, Beth and Vivian and nephew Don. Veronica worked hard her whole life and retired in 1990 when she took on the job she cherished the most; watching and participating in the upbringing of her grandsons. She was often seen driving a van full of kids from one gym to another, or cheering at a sporting or school event. She was lovingly known as Grandma to many children throughout the years. The family would like to thank Drs. Caners and Gingerich, nurse Cheryl, and all the nurses on the third floor at CancerCare as well as the staff at the palliative care unit at St. Boniface Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gerard Parish, 45 Foster St. with interment at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery 1 Green Acres Lane, Springfield (204) 222-3241 Hwy #1 East inside the Perimeter at Winnipeg Condolences may be sent to:
