THERESE FRANCINE NELSON (published on September 22, 2011)

THERESE FRANCINE NELSON It is with heavy hearts that we announce the departure of Therese Nelson, who passed away peacefully at the Glenboro Personal Care Home on September 20, 2011. Therese was predeceased by her beloved husband Harley and leaves behind sons and daughters: Loren (Janice) Nelson of Glenboro, Wayne Nelson of Glenboro, Celeste (Larry) West of Winnipeg, Roger (Grace) Nelson of Calgary, Dolores (Ron) Friesen of Winnipeg, Mark Nelson of Winnipeg, Marie Nelson of Winnipeg, Renee (John) Gray of Winnipeg, 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister Georgette Major of St. Norbert, her brother Michel (Marien) Richard of Folly Beach, SC, sister-in-law Clarice Pospishel of Winnipeg and many more nieces, nephews and cousins. Therese was born on September 30, 1928 in St. Boniface and grew up in Ste. Genevieve, MB. She graduated from Winnipeg Normal School as a teacher, and taught school in Middleboro, Sprague, Gobeil School, Killarney, Winnipeg and Glenboro. Therese met Harley while she was working as a teacher. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage until his passing in 2009. Therese has been a constant spiritual presence in the lives of her family for so many years. As an understanding and giving person, she has dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren, and has helped so many others. As well, her pleasant nature and sense of humour has been passed to her children and grandchildren. Mom had an effect on every community she was in, she was the life of the party, and she was everyone's favourite all through life, to the final years at the personal care home. She made an impact on everyone with her humour, her wit, her joy with people. Prayers and viewing will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 23 at the Willmor Chapel in Glenboro. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at the St. James Catholic Church, Baldur, MB on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Philip Malayil officiating. Afterward, interment will take place at the Glenboro Cemetery with a reception to follow at the C.E. Building in Glenboro. The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the Glenboro Personal Care Home. Memoriams may be made in Therese's memory to the Glenboro Volunteer Senior Enrichment Group.
