HARVEY KIMELMAN (published on September 24, 2011)

HARVEY KIMELMAN Sadly, we announce the passing of Harvey Kimelman at Riverview Health Centre on September 18, 2011 at the age of 86 years. He is survived by his wife, Gladys, his sons, Doug (Marsha), Barry and David, grandsons Josh and Sam, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Nina, and his brother Ed. He was a Hospital Pharmacist at the Health Sciences Centre for many years, retiring in 1985. He was a man of many hobbies and a fixer extraordinaire, he was a problem solver, he loved the great outdoors and all the critters, and he loved good music. Upon retirement, he and Gladys trailered the Continent, and he fed every squirrel from coast to coast. They spent many winters 'Down South', but his greatest pleasure was his summers spent at the cabin at Clear Lake with family, friends and wonderful neighbours. He enjoyed family dinners when he could kibitz with the grandchildren and tell corny jokes. Services were held at Etz Chaim Synagogue, with interment at Rosh Pina Memorial Park. Sincere thanks to Dr. Bennigen, Dr. Czaykowski at CancerCare, and especially to Riverview Palliative Care E3. Donations in his memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, or a charity of your choice.
