MARJORIE HELEN HEMSWORTH (nee JOHNSTON) March 30, 1915 - September 24, 2011 Marge Hemsworth, beloved wife of the late Gerald Albert John Hemsworth, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Tuxedo Villa where she had been a six year resident. She was predeceased by her husband Jerry, her parents Herbert and Jessie Johnston and all of her nine siblings. She leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces with fond memories of her generosity, interest in their well being, and her wonderful sense of humour. Born in Deloraine, Manitoba she left home at 16 and journeyed to Ontario, Calgary and Vancouver, returning eventually to Winnipeg. She and her husband Jerry worked together, until their retirement in the 1970s, along with John and Jean Rae at their restaurant, Rae Jerry's. For many years it was a 364 day per year job with Christmas Day the only break. The successful business continues today and honours many of its original traditions Marge was a way ahead of her time, to the delight of her many nieces and nephews. A favourite song was YMAC to which she loved to dance anytime it was played. The family wishes to thank the staff of Tuxedo Villa for their interest in and care of Marjorie. Many of them have shared their anecdotes of their positive experiences with her over the years. She was a loving, caring, hardworking aunt, interested in all the goings on and achievements of her extended family. She will be missed but not forgotten. A celebration of the lives of Marge and Jerry Hemsworth will be held at Thomson In the Park , 1291 McGillivray Blvd. at 2:00 p.m., November 4, 2011. For those who wish to, a donation to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers will be appreciated. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to
