| BARBARA JEAN SWALLOW (nee MORRIS) October 7, 1928 - September 30, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother, and friend Barbara Jean Swallow at the age of 82 years. After a courageous two year struggle with cancer, Barbara died at St. Norbert Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, MB, with her family at her side. Barbara will be remembered for her loving service and care as a public health nurse. Formerly of Halifax, NS and Edmonton, AB, she has lived in Manitoba since 2008. Left to forever cherish Barbara's memory are her four children and their families: Jim (Heather) Gosling, St. Andrews, MB, Russell Swallow, St. Andrews, MB, Sara (Jim) Blashock, Ile des Chenes, MB, Rita (Lyle) Moltzan, Harare, Zimbabwe; six grandsons: Andrew, Gavin, and Jonathan Gosling, Jordan and Taylor Moltzan, and Jimmy Blashock; sisters Sylvia (Ray) Kane, British Columbia, Phyllis MacEachern, Nova Scotia, Joan (Lee) Roy, Alberta; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Sarah Jane and Phillip Thomas Morris; four siblings: Kenneth Morris, Helen Currie, Edith Stoddard, and Rita Patrick. On Thursday, October 6, 2011 Barbara's Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the ballroom at Niverville Heritage Manor, Niverville, MB. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Norbert Personal Care Home and Niverville Heritage Manor for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's memory to a Cancer foundation of your choice. |
