| SANDRA GAIL ROBERTS June 6, 1951 - September 30, 2011 Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend Gail passed away peacefully at the Marion Hospice in Vancouver, surrounded by her family and her long time friend Denyse, following a courageous struggle with cancer. Gail was born in Winnipeg and predeceased by her father, Henry (Hank) Loewen, her mother Marguerite Loewen (Becker) and her infant sister Cathy Sue. She will be sorrowfully missed by her husband Donnie, and her children Bill, Margaret and Julia, all of Vancouver, her grandson Daniel, granddaughter Zoe, and her faithful dog, Eddie. She will be sadly missed by her close friends and colleagues. Gail grew up in Ottawa, where she met Donnie and moved to Winnipeg after their marriage in 1975 where they raised their family. The family moved to Vancouver in 2000 where Gail became an integral part of the BC Premier's office, until last spring. Among her many interests Gail enjoyed her family, fitness, gardening, reading, skiing, shopping and was a loyal fan of the Vancouver Canucks. Her zest for life was reflected in her infectious laugh and her incredible red hair. The family thanks the staff and nurses at Marion Hospice for their compassionate care and understanding during Gail's final days. A memorial service will be held in Vancouver at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 6 at the Spirit of Life Lutheran Church, located at 375 W. 10th Ave. (Yukon and W. 10th Ave.). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honour of Gail Roberts to the Marion Hospice, 9th Floor, 900 W 12th Ave., Vancouver, BC V5Z 1N3.
