MAUREEN SANDERSON (published on October 05, 2011)

MAUREEN SANDERSON Maureen Sanderson, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2011, after a brief illness. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on February 2, 1932, she moved to San Francisco where she worked for several years. She came back to Canada and relocated to Vancouver in 1971, where she lived in the West End and then finally settled in Richmond. Maureen loved great conversations and debates, and dinners were always a lively discussion. Her love of travel took her to many corners of the globe including Europe, Greece, Ireland and Russia. Predeceased by her brother Larry and sister Pat, Maureen is survived by sister Alice and brothers Tom and Kevin, and is a cherished aunt and great-aunt to many. Prayer vigil is from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6 at Richmond Funeral Home, 8420 Cambie, and mass of Christian burial is on Friday, October 7 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker, 4451 Williams Rd., Richmond. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of BC would be greatly appreciated. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
