PEARL MABEL LAING (nee MCCLINTOCK) October 2, 1929 - October 3, 2011 It is with great sadness and bereavement we announce the passing of our mom. Mom passed away peacefully at the Carman Memorial Hospital in the presence of her children. Pearl was born in the Purves District and grew up in the Pembina Valley. Pearl and her husband Andy raised their family in Winnipeg where they both worked until retiring to Carman in 1990. Following her 48 years of nursing, Pearl continued to be very active in the community volunteering for many local service agencies. Pearl is predeceased by Andy, her husband of 39 years; her parents Robert and Muriel McClintock; and her siblings Elgin, Gordon, Wilma, Eva, Marlene and Randall. Pearl is survived by her children Diane Findlay (Don) of Carman, Jim Laing (Robin) of Calgary, AB and Kathy Rector (Craig) of McLean, SK; grandchildren, Kerri (Nick), Carissa (Marco), Scott, Kailey, Matthew (Cheryl), and her great-grandchildren Aura, Zephie and Hannah. Pearl is also survived by her siblings Violet (Gordon), Jessie, Hazel, Bill (Carol), Brenda (Ben) and Julie. A celebration of Pearl's life will be held Friday, October 7 at 2:00 p.m., Carman United Church, Rev. Harold Kenyon officiating. Viewing held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 6 at Doyle's Funeral Chapel in Carman. Interment held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 9 at the LaRiviere Cemetery in LaRiviere, MB.
