RONALD BARON On October 3, 2011 at the Health Sciences Centre, with his wife and soulmate Debbie by his side, Ron lost his courageous battle. He was predeceased by his mother Jean Baron (December 21, 2009) and father-in-law James Lewis (October 3, 2002). Ron will be forever missed by his wife Debbie; stepchildren, Mark (Michelle), Robert and Joshua; daughter Kathleena; stepgrand-children, Ryin and Summer; father Archie; his brother Ken; sister Robyn; sister-in-law Janet (Orest); mother-in-law Christina (Charlie), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends, especially his special friend Gerry Garvey. Ron attained his Master's degree in Social Work and pursued his career in Calgary, later returning home to Winnipeg where he worked for the Rivereast Personal Care Home in a variety of positions. Ron had many great gifts, to mention a few, his love of sports, especially hockey, he played with the St. James Canadians from 1969 to 1974 winning five city championships in a row. He went on to play with the USHL - Calmet Country Copper Chiefs. Ron loved world history and travelled extensively, he could talk for hours about his experiences. He had an incredible thirst for knowledge even taking courses at the U. of M. during his illness. He also had an appreciation for a very eclectic genre of music which he enjoyed sharing with others. Ron you were an incredible person, life will never be the same without you. Thanks for the good times and the beautiful life we had. - Debbie Special thanks to Dr. Wong, you are amazing.
