ANTON HARTMAN April 12, 1924 - October 3, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear Father and Grandfather, Anton on October 3, 2011 at Health Sciences Centre Emergency, surrounded by his family. Left to forever cherish his memory are, son George and wife Robin, grandsons Adam (Kerry) and Stuart (Jen) and granddaughter Karen (Kyle); daughter Wendy and husband Mike Tschetter, granddaughters Laura (Pete), Kaley and Stephanie; son Garry and grandson Kris and granddaughters Vicky and Mandy; two great-grandchildren Chloe and Brody. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Opal, in July 2011, and by daughter Valerie in 1961. He will also be missed by his sisters Mary, Eva and Agnes as well as many special nieces, nephews and friends. Anton touched the hearts and lives of countless people with his willingness to always lend a helping hand. He was a gentle, loving man with a beautiful smile who will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the nurses of Health Sciences Centre Emergency Lesley, Laurie and Rachel for their compassion during such a difficult time. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to Miriam Neufeld and all the wonderful staff at Lion's Personal Care Centre who treated Dad with such kindness and compassion and made his stay there very comfortable. A celebration of Anton's life will be held Saturday, October 8 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave at Henderson Hwy. with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anton's memory to Lion's Personal Care Centre Memorial Donation, Director of Spiritual Care, 320 Sherbrook St. Winnipeg, MB R3B 2W6.
