GIUSEPPE (JOE) CRISANTI March 17, 1926 October 5, 2011 Giuseppe (Joe) passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the River Park Gardens Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 85 years. He was predeceased by his parents Vincenzo and Giusepina Crisanti, brother Nino (Joanna) Crisanti, sisters Dora (Antonino) Arrigo and Maria (Frank) Scalisi and sister-in-law Pina Morello and brother-in-law Mimo Grasso. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 51 years Agostina; son Vince (Marci) and grandchildren Greg and Lindsay Crisanti of Brandon, MB.; sister-in-law Cosima Grasso, Maria (Tony) Morello; brother-in-law Joe (Rosa) Morello, and several nieces and nephews, including special nephew Vincenzo Crisanti (Graziella Caldera) of Italy. Treasured neighbours and dear friends, Denis and Diane Magnee of Winnipeg have become part of the extended Crisanti family. Joe was born March 17, 1926 in Termini Imeresi, Italy. Joe immigrated to Winnipeg Manitoba in 1958. In 1960 he married Agostina Teresi and the following year their only child was born, son Vince. Joe had deep love for his family and many friends. Joe's employment included Assiniboine Downs, Love-a-Day Mushroom Plant, Tache Hospital and he completed his career with 20 years of service at the St. Boniface Hospital where he retired in 1991. Joe had a love of gardening and would spend hours in his yard, with his tomatoes and zucchini being the pride of his yearly crops. He was a proud member of the Holy Rosary congregation, member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of Club Sicilia. He proudly volunteered for many years at the Italian Pavilion during Winnipeg's annual Folklorama festival. Due to ill health, three years ago Joe moved into River Park Gardens Personal Care Centre. Each day he looked forward to his daily visits and time spent with his devoted wife Agostina. It was here that Joe and Agostina developed special friendships with the staff that cared so professionally and deeply for Joe. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Reverend Father Sam Argenziano celebrant. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the Funeral Mass. Entombment in Green Acres Holy Angel Mausoleum, No. 1 Hwy. Navin Road. In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 are gratefully accepted.
