GEORGINA M. HICKERSON On Monday, June 8, 2009 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Georgie passed away at the age of 73 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Jody (Darryl) Burmey and grandchildren Jamie Lynn (16), Jessica Nicole (14), Darryl Jordan a.k.a. D.J. (9); as well as brother-in-law Norm Hyde in Thunder Bay, sister Corinne Dietz (Ed) in Wisconsin and nieces and nephews whom are also in the Thunder Bay and Wisconsin areas. Georgie was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, in June of 1991, her daughter Jamie Lynn in March of 1981 and sister Joyce Hyde in 2001. Georgie was born to George and Olga Theobald on September 10, 1935 at the Misericordia Hospital. She married the love of her life, Joseph Allen Hickerson, on September 18th, 1954. They were well known for their generous hospitality and will be remembered for the many great times spent while living on Jamison Avenue. They travelled to Hawaii every winter for many years and loved it there. Georgie worked briefly at Grant Park Cinema and when her children started school she began working at the Bank of Montreal Data Centre where she made many long time friendships. She loved 10 pin and 5 pin bowling and was in several different leagues throughout her life. In the past few years she has been the executive of an active social club in her building. She volunteered at the meal program for the buildings where she made many wonderful friendships throughout the block and the Riverside Seniors Club in recent years. As per Georgie's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been made for her ashes to join her husband and daughters off the coast of Honolulu, Hawaii. A celebration of Georgie's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Thomson Funeral Home.
