ERNESTO BACOSA (published on April 27, 2010)

ERNESTO BACOSA It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ernesto Bacosa on Monday, April 19, 2010 at the age of 67. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Fe; children, Gail (Earl Puhawan), Mark (Erika van Wyk), and Laurie; grandchildren Tyson, Adrian, Jayden, Lea, Kaila, Kirk, Craig, Coralie, and Maxim; and many extended family and friends, especially Filomena (Joe Wittig) and Luisito Bacosa (New Jersey). He was predeceased by his mother, Celsa, father, Luis, brother, Teling, and his grandson, Alexander. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and Lolo. He was hardworking and was an example of resilience, altruism, and faith for his family and those who knew him. He loved to sing and enjoyed entertaining friends and family with his humour. Ernesto worked at Winnipeg School Division, and upon retirement operated his own driving school and worked at Jeld-Wen. He was a member of St. Edward's Mixed Bowling League and the Knights of Rizal. He had also been involved with The Winnipeg Boys and Girls Club Newcomer Program. Lamay (viewing) will be held on Thursday, April 29 and Friday, April 30 from 6:00 p.m. to midnight at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. at St. Edwards Church, 836 Arlington St., with Father Michael Koryluk officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Eden where he will be laid to rest with his grandson. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Health Sciences Centre, Riverview, and Seven Oaks Hospital for their care, encouragement, and support.
